In this changing, uncertain period, we are more aware than ever of the vital role we play as partners of organizations working to get essential supplies to consumers, businesses and healthcare providers during the crisis.

Below are some specific actions we have taken:

Focus on Health and Safety: Above all, the health and safety of our team, customers, and the community take priority. Based on recommendations from the CDC and health officials, we have implemented precautions to ensure a safe and clean environment throughout the delivery process. This includes increased sanitization, social distancing and adhering to governmental mandates for workers to wear gloves and masks. To limit interactions with members of the public, we have forgone the previously required signature for deliveries.
Commitment to Fast and Reliable: With schools closed and many people working remotely, consumers and businesses are relying on fast and safe delivery more than ever, and we are working hard to keep deliveries on time, despite increased demand. For example, we have noticed a surge in perishables from fresh produce providers like Misfits Market, frozen meat purveyors and meal kit companies, as communities look to alternatives to grocery stores. Our team is also seeing record volumes from large enterprise customers with essential deliveries like toilet paper and diapers. To help make deliveries more efficient we are fast-tracking the launch of our upgraded delivery app.
Delivery for Healthcare Providers: It’s critical for wholesale pharmaceutical and medical supply distributors to deliver essential items quickly, and we are aiding in the deliveries in record quantities. Additionally, we are delivering PPE to the front lines, as well as COVID-19 test kits.

In addition to our work with healthcare professionals, we are looking for ways to support the community. For example, when Inova, Northern Virginia’s leading nonprofit healthcare provider, faced a dire challenge of securing vital medical supplies, we worked with Inova’s logistical team to arrange pick-up and delivery of masks, gowns and other supplies daily to its network of hospitals.

We’re doing our best to ensure the best delivery experience for our customers. When an employee in Maryland heard about a shipment of baby formula being stolen, the team sprang into action and located the specific formula at a local retailer, and hand-delivered the replacement to the customer so her newborn could stay fed.

Since the start of the COVID-19 emergency, we’ve seen our team step up to ensure vital deliveries are made and our communities are supported. Each day, we’re doing everything we can to stay on top of increased demand in a safe way for our employees, independent contractors and our customers, while also looking for ways we can help the greater community. That’s our focus right now, and we couldn’t be more proud of our team.
