The company formally kicked off its Tennessee-based services last month, saying these moves, in tandem with the company’s broader expansion, have increased delivery coverage by almost 18%, reaching an additional 979 new zip codes throughout 16 states.

June 1, 2021—Vienna, Va.-based regional e-commerce and last-mile delivery services provider LaserShip recently announced it is expanding into Tennessee, through the opening of new branches in Nashville, Memphis, and Knoxville.

The company formally kicked off its Tennessee-based services last month, saying these moves, in tandem with the company’s broader expansion, have increased delivery coverage by almost 18%, reaching an additional 979 new zip codes throughout 16 states. And company officials noted that the COVID-19 pandemic played a large role in the expansion, as retailers have had to balance increased e-commerce activity, coupled with higher delivery costs and capacity constraints implemented by national carriers.

LaserShip Chief Commercial Officer Josh Dinneen told LM that the company has been planning its expansion into Tennessee for more than a year.

“We partner with retailers to understand where they are having current capacity challenges, or delivery challenges and select the markets we expand in to provide the fastest and most reliable service to as many consumers as possible,” said Dinneen. “We heard consistently that Tennessee was an area that retailers needed a solution for. We have increased our delivery coverage by 18% to help our retail partners reach their customers with faster, reliable last mile delivery that helps them acquire customers and build brand loyalty. At a time when national carriers are implementing further peak surcharges and capacity limits, we’re proud to help our customers diversify their carrier mix and help them build flexible, more resilient supply chains.”

Prior to this expansion, LaserShip had not served customers in Tennessee, noted Dinneen.

“Our expansion broadens our delivery reach and enables our retail customers to leverage our network across 21 states and DC to reach their customers faster while improving their margins, and consumers get faster delivery,” he said. “It’s a win-win-win situation.”

LaserShip officials said that the company’s state-of-the-art Nashville branch, which is located at 3827 Logistics Way, is the largest of the three in Tennessee and will facilitate millions of deliveries to nearly 2 million consumers in the greater Nashville metropolitan area. And they added that the company is creating more than 200 jobs to help meet local delivery demand, while boosting economic growth across the regions.

What’s more, they also noted that the Tennessee expansion enables consumers to take advantage of the benefits of LaserShip’s proprietary delivery platform, including its Visual Proof of Delivery (vPOD) service that improves visibility and transparency by providing a photo confirmation with virtual time stamp when package deliveries have been made.
